...is for “young, creative, urban explorers”.
So don’t buy one if you’re a hick.

Good, because hicks like trucks, and this is not a truck.

Other cities than the one they live in?

Restaurants and bars already frequented by those people. Like when people realized that the little cow-town of Austin might be neat.

Whole Foods, Starbucks, gallery malls, Soulcycle franchises, that little strip of gravel between the street and driveway in remote mcmansion orchards.

Bless those heros who are charting familiar courses in known terrain for the benefit of the rest of us.

Paint those flares and lower it 3 inches and we got a deal. I actually like the way it looks. The tailight fins are a little odd tho.

Plastic flares must be the “In” thing now. The TourX, this thing, that Viziv Concept.
I blame the Crosstrek.

I don’t know if this is 100% across the board but I know a huge chunk of the people who are buying these mini crossovers are suburban empty nesters. They no longer need a big 3-row vehicle to ferry around their kids. They want better mpg and something easier to park when they venture in to the city, but still want some room inside for picking up antique dressers, plus the taller ride height and vague indications of SUV ruggedness.

Looks like a 1st gen BMW X1 mated with a Toyota C-HR.

Agreed. Don’t think my parents (in their late 60s) will ever move away from having a crossover. It doesn’t require a climb up like an SUV, nor a duck down in like a sedan/wagon. There are a variety of other reasons, but this in itself will write off most other categories going forward for them I think.

I swear Picture 2 may be the most unflattering picture of a car I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s like using a fish eye lens to zoom in on someone’s nose.
